This Book Saves Lives:

10 Steps to Building a Threat Management Program in Your Organization, Prevent Workplace Violence, and Take Care of Your People

This Book Saves Lives is a practical guide to helping organizations prevent targeted violence before it occurs.

Written by Jameson Ritter, Founder and Principal of Threatwise Global LLC, the book is designed for organizations that may not have dedicated security resources but still carry real responsibility for the safety of their people. It provides a clear, step-by-step approach to building a proactive threat management capability using principles grounded in Behavioral Threat Assessment and Management (BTAM).

Drawing from real-world experience, Ritter breaks down how to assess organizational needs, identify warning behaviors, and intervene early—before situations escalate. The book covers common challenges such as managing hostile terminations, recognizing red flags, and conducting structured inquiries, all with a focus on practical application rather than theory.

At its core, the book helps readers move from uncertainty to action. It provides a roadmap for creating a culture of safety, improving awareness, and supporting better decision-making across teams.

Whether you are a business owner, HR professional, nonprofit leader, or part of a faith-based or community organization, this book offers a starting point for building a more structured and effective approach to prevention.

Prevention begins with recognizing behavior early—and choosing to act.

Available on Amazon, in both paperback and on Kindle.

Meet the Author

Jameson Ritter is a Behavioral Threat Assessment and Management (BTAM) practitioner and the Founder of Threatwise Global LLC. His work has focused on helping organizations identify, assess, and manage concerning behavior before it escalates into violence. Across his consulting work, he has supported corporate teams, healthcare systems, educational institutions, and public sector organizations in building structured approaches to prevention.

This book was written based on a consistent challenge encountered in that work. Many small to mid-sized organizations, nonprofits, and faith-based groups understood they had real workplace violence risk—but did not have a security team, dedicated resources, or a clear starting point. The most common question was simple: “Where do we begin?”

This Book Saves Lives was created to answer that question. It provides a practical starting point for organizations that may not have the ability to engage consultants but still need to take action. The goal is to make threat assessment and prevention accessible, structured, and usable—so organizations can begin building safer environments with the resources they have.
